Please note that our rates are increasing from 1st November 2024 to the following;

Data Entry/ Document Control $60/hr + GST

Junior Draftsperson $60/hr + GST

Senior Draftsperson $90/hr + GST

Design Draftsperson $120/hr + GST

Our quotes are based on a minimum square meter rate of $25/m2 for single story, and a minimum of  $40/m2 for double story. The average bespoke square meter rate we charge for multiple story design is $60/m2.

As of February 2017 due to demand, we are only providing design drawings, and no longer offering the additional Working Drawings package we previusly offered since 1998. Primarily, we have found that each council interprets the R-Codes in their own manner. We have also found that most builders prefer to use their own drafting contractors for producing specific detail drawings, in itself this presents a risk of the builder not doing the right thing by the client, however we also offer a Review service for a much lower fee than the 1.65% of building contract value that we used to charge for Working Drawings. This presents a big cost saving especially to Owner Builders, as Dovetail Drafting owns the copyright for any drawings produced, which means you can take those drawings to multiple builders to get quotes to compare. If you were to go straight to one builder, they then own the copyright to design drawings they produce, and you cannot take those drawings to a competitor builder to get a second quote.

We are able to provide structural drawings based on engineer calculations, or for common construction, provide drawings ready for a structural engineer to sign.

Our quotes are based on a square meter rate dependent on complexity of $25/m2 to $60/m2. Alternatively, Day and/or Week rates may be preferable.

Based on calculatons provided by your engineer, or alternatively, based on our own experience, we are able to provide drawings for precast/insitu/slipform applications. These then need to be signed off by your engineer prior to pour.

We are able to project manage your project if you decide to Owner Build.

We have extensive project management experience for insitu concrete pours, precast concrete projects, concrete swimming pools, and Owner Builder renovations.

Our senior design staff are available at a fixed rates of;

• 40 Hour week (must be in same week) $3,762.00 incl. GST
• 8 Hour day $792.00 incl. GST
• Hourly rate $110.00 incl. GST

Includes Superannuation guarantee within hourly/ daily/ week rates.

This includes the option of remote contracts via Zoom.
